Local Events

Thanks to San Diego Mayor, Kevin Faulconer, today, July 27, 2015, marks the first official International Day to Normalize Breastfeeding. This isn't just a day to say "hey I breastfeed, here's a selfie". The goal of founder, Vanessa Simmons, is to take this first anniversary to rally breastfeeding supporters, locally, as well as worldwide Whether you nurse, pump, or use donated breastmilk, this day is meant to encourage full-term breastfeeding, as well as enlighten the community on the importance of skin-to-skin contact!

Get started on a new movement to help the United States boost our breastfeeding rates, especially among African-American mothers, who maintain the lowest breastfeeding rate in the US. Founder Vanessa believes that, in sharing publicly, they will have inspired a generation of women to, “nurse or pump whenever necessary, nourish their baby, toddler or child with breast milk as often as possible until they are ready to stop.”

Event Co-Hosts - seriously check them out! They're all incredible at what they do, and working their butts off to help make our world a more natural, accepting place!
